Job Description

Specific Duties:
Analysis
  • Conducts competitive and functional analysis of potential new analytics and data warehousing systems
  • Documents, analyzes and prototypes new data solutions to ensure they meet Pact’s business needs.
  • Filters and “cleans” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and analysis
Innovation in support of our Analytics strategic priority (depending on skillset)
  • Experiment with various big data approaches (machine learning, etc) to create predictive development and/or financial models
  • Work with various Pact staff to prototype a consolidated view of Pact’s program, financial and human capital data, overlaid with publicly available data sets (World Bank, USG, etc)
Report development
  • Works with Pact staff to define report requirements
  • Develops reports based on business needs; trains staff to develop ad hoc queries using existing reporting tools.
  • Identifies and corrects problems in existing reports, databases, scripts, etc.
Implementation and Support (depending on skillset)
  • Migrates or transfers data between databases and applications as necessary using appropriate data analysis, conversion and connectivity utilities.
  • Develops and implements databases, integrations, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize reporting efficiency and quality
  • Deploys, trains and supports new tools alone or with additional technical support

Requirements
  • Working toward Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science or related field
  • We’ll help you learn but the most qualified candidates will already have some experience with relevant technologies and tools such as machine learning techniques, predictive analytics, data lakes, SQL querying, database architecture, PowerBI, python, ODBC connectivity, etc.
  • Strong technical skills, familiarity with software development lifecycle, data analysis
