Project Overview and Role:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Based in Amman, the Jordan Strengthening Rule of Law programme is a UK Government-funded project that provides technical support to the Economic Chambers and the Jordanian Judicial Institute. The aim of the project is to support these organisations and other key stakeholders to have greater transparency and efficiency in administration of justice that is responsive to citizens’ needs, improves protection of commercial assets and regulatory compliance, and helps foster investment.
Increase public confidence in the Jordanian judicial system through enabling greater transparency and consistency.
Support strengthening of the Judicial Institute’s curriculum by supporting Economic Chambers Judges with tailored training and mentorship.
Consult with business, government agencies and civil society to design more efficient processes, systems and effective administration within the Economic Chamber.
Contribute towards meeting the aims of Jordan’s Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Ensure sustainability of approaches embedded within the Jordanian Judiciary to continue beyond the end of the project
Judges make more consistent decisions
Businesses can more easily access justice
Progress is made towards Jordan’s anti-corruption commitments
The Workstream 1 Associate will support the Workstream 1 Lead in the delivery of all workstream (Process & System Redesign) outcomes to the FCO and supports all workstream 1 activities.
The primary responsibilities of the Workstream 1 Associate, are as follows.
Support the development of a current state assessment of the current processes and systems within the Economic Chambers to identify barriers and issues that can be improved through a system redesign
Support the conduction of a benchmark study of processes and procedures within Economic Chamber of other comparable jurisdictions
Support in designing an improved Operating Model of the Economic Chambers based on the findings of the current state assessment and benchmark study
Support of the implementation of a pilot of the developed Operating Model
To achieve the above the Workstream 1 Associate will in particular:
Support in initial scoping, needs assessment studies
Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders within the economic chambers to assess the status quo of the internal procedures and systems
Analyse internal documentation to assess the status quo of the internal procedures and systems
Produce reports and presentations for the client and the beneficiary
Required Qualifications: Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Industrial /Management Engineering or IT related field, or extensive experience in Process Improvement; to include process documentation or change, collection and analysis of related metrics and problem solving.
