Job Description

Job Overview

Incumbent is responsible for supporting the GPHP department budget and grants team with reviewing the financial reports and documentation ensuring the institutional and awards’ policy and procedures are followed; assisting with budgets development and post-award financial monitoring; preparing donor reports; communicating with internal and external partners; as well as responding to various requests from staff and management.

Essential Functions

  1. Review financial documentation for quality control for further submission to GPHP management for review and approval, ensuring the department adheres to the institutional policy and procedures as well as funder requirements.
  2. Manage reconciliation process of GPHP programs to ASM financial system.
  3. Liaise with funders and subcontractors to resolve issues and respond to budget-related inquiries on as needed basis
  4. Assist in preparing proposals for submission, including budgets development and other required documentation, understanding and interpreting grant filing instructions.
  5. Assist in post-award processing, fund set-up and financial management.
  6. Develop, track, file and assist in submitting all financial reports, including routine (i.e. monthly, VAT) or ad hoc financial reports as required by grant/contract agreements while ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  7. Maintain a calendar of deadlines for applications and reporting to current and potential funders.
  8. Assist in liaising with ASM Finance Department on GPHP financial, accounting and reporting issues.

Technical Competencies

  1. Experience in financial management, budget and data analysis, and financial systems
  2. Experience with federal grant application and monitoring, CDC preferred
  3. Experience with international donors
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelors’ degree in business administration, accounting or related field
  2. Four (4) years of relevant experience preferably in global health, international development
  3. Experience with a non-profit, preferred
