Social Solutions International is seeking a Business Development Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be under the direction of the President and will perform various duties related to business capture, proposal development, opportunity searching, and manage the BD process for all areas of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the business development cycle from start to finish and identify new opportunities and revenue growth areas.
  • Represent Social Solutions at business development opportunities and events, close deals and launch partnershipsincorporating Social Solutions’ mission and values.
  • Implement recommendations for strategic marketing; performs market research and analysis.
  • Evaluate operational issues to determine how competitive and current it is with the latest trends in the industry.
  • Actively seek out new partnership opportunities and build trusting relationships with target organizations across the US and worldwide.
  • Manage and negotiate complex relationships and large-scale teaming agreements and subcontracts with every size and stage of company from start-ups through major technology companies and global multi-nationals.
  • Maintain Business Development Pipeline. Identify Business Development Opportunities and Coordinate BD search efforts.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of resumes, PPRs, and CAPEs document, submitted proposals, and inventory on an ongoing basis.
  • Create and maintain BD resources including project descriptions, BD search instructions, BD presentations, and Proposal Development Handbook.
  • Draft Sources Sought, Request for Information responses, and review, edit, and format those drafted by RAs.
  • Function as Proposal Manager on small, medium, and large bids. Facilitate capture process including the identification of team members, staff and consultants. Oversee proposal teams and timelines. Contribute significant levels of writing and editing to proposals. Serve as reviewer and technical sounding board.
  • Lead the proposal development and production process. Review RFPs/RFQs, supervises the creation of proposal aid documents, timelines, and templates. Establish and coordinate partnerships by drafting teaming agreements and LOCs/LOSs, with partner inputs. Delegate writing assignments, review drafts, edit and format draft proposal sections, prepare appendices and coordinate the production process.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and 8+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience in, Business, Social Sciences or related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience managing proposals.
  • Extensive experience with USAID business development.
  • Knowledgeable handling multiple projects and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable, able to work and manage proposals through change.
  • Able to work as part of a team and manage initiatives that require collaboration across multiple functional areas.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, business savvy, able to set short and long-term business goals while taking in consideration the business environment and external competitors.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationship with current and potential partners.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills. Able to simplify complex ideas and concepts, summarize facts and set opportunities within strategic and operational framework.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) occasionally.
