International Malaysia is seeking applicants for Business Relationships Manager
for the Better Health Programme Malaysia. This 3-year programme is funded by
the UK Prosperity Fund from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and is being
implemented across 5 countries in South East Asia as part of a regional effort
to address non-communicable diseases. The Better Health Programme (Malaysia) aims
to improve prosperity and reduce poverty by improving population health,
reducing morbidity and mortality arising from non-communicable diseases. In
addition, the programme seeks to address inequities in healthcare amongst
women, the poor and marginalized communities to contribute to inclusive economic
growth. These objectives will be done through three strategic pillars of the
programme: community health; digital health; and health literacy and education.
Summary: The Business
Relationships Manager will be responsible for engaging with local business
partners and community leaders on proposed NCD prevention interventions. This
position is responsible for assisting the External Relations Leader in
developing viable value propositions with partners leading to collaborations where
appropriate, including follow-ups, facilitating multi-stakeholder engagements,
determining approvals needed and undertaking related implementation activities
where required. The ideal candidate is a Malaysian national with experience with
a strong track record in facilitation and engagement of public and private
sector stakeholders. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the
candidate must have the ability to travel within Malaysia for up to 25% time. He/
She is expected to work independently with limited supervision.
Identify and follow through on opportunities to
collaborate with various stakeholders in implementing specific activities.
Design and facilitate workshops with business
and private-sector stakeholders, subject matter experts, and community leaders.
Define approach to teaming and partnering with external stakeholders.
Identify and pursue opportunities to align
interests of diverse stakeholders in order to facilitate successful

requirements as a result of planned interventions.
Tap into understanding of product and company
business cases to advocate for collaboration on programme activities to
decrease obesity among the urban poor.
Assist in the planning, drafting and editing of
communication pieces to engage relevant stakeholders.

specific activities identified under the intervention programmes, working
closely with community liaison, external relations lead, and others on the

Minimum Required Education & Experience
Master’s degree and 3 years of experience or Bachelors’
Degree and 6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience in community development, social work, communications, healthcare
and/or other healthcare-related fields.
Experience in implementing community participatory
approaches and methods for community engagement, empowerment and consultation
within in Malaysia is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in everyday Bahasa Malaysia is compulsory.
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively
in a cross-cultural environment.
Outstanding problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and
