Job Description

TechnoServe works with enterprising people in the developing world to build competitive farms, businesses and industries. We are a nonprofit organization that develops business solutions to poverty by linking people to information, capital and markets. Our work is rooted in the idea that given the opportunity, hardworking men and women in even the poorest places can generate income, jobs and wealth for their families and communities. With more than four decades of proven results, we believe in the power of private enterprise to transform lives.

The UK Department for International Development (DFID)’s program Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) will be a new, £10 million, 4-5 year flagship program on women’s economic empowerment. It aims to give women access to improved economic opportunities through business interventions in supply chains and economic development programs.
The program will facilitate the following:
* Businesses will improve women’s access to higher-return and higher-productivity jobs and roles in supply chains, with improving working conditions.
* Women’s work in supply chains will be made more visible, to improve global knowledge on women’s economic contribution.
* DFID and the UK Government’s economic development programs will reach a larger number of women beneficiaries and improve global knowledge on how to deliver results for women and girls through economic development interventions.

As the Women Inclusive Supply Chains - Partnerships Manager you will:
Manage partnerships with businesses to improve women’s participation in supply chains. S/he will perform outreach and build relationships with global and British businesses that have supply chains in DFID countries, form partnerships with global businesses and help them design and implement interventions to increase the inclusion of, and improve outcomes for, women in their supply chains. S/he will be responsible for addressing deep-rooted barriers to women in supply chains by scaling up, extending the scope of, or replicating existing interventions that are proven or promising, and by piloting new approaches. Barriers the WOW team will address include discrimination, occupational segregation, violence in the workplace and unpaid care work. S/he will also help identify and support partnerships that DFID should participate in to take action on the priorities identified by the UN High Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment.

You will have:
* Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of experience required; master’s degree preferred.
* Prior experience working on private sector supply chain initiatives.
* Comfort and experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
* Demonstrated enthusiasm for and proven ability to plan, resource and manage program development in collaboration with international and local companies.
* Strong leadership skills and management experience.
* Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, consensus building and coordination of diverse stakeholders.
* Experience in managing short-term consultants and advisors to deliver complex outputs, services and reports.
* Fluent in English.

Candidates with UK work eligibility strongly encouraged to apply.
