Job Description

Chemonics seeks a change management manager to support the Global Operations and Improvement (GO&I) Team. The manager will be responsible for the coordination of Chemonics’ portfolio of corporate change initiatives, training new staff on change management tools and practices, and leading change management efforts throughout the company. Responsibilities include:
  • Support stakeholder management, communications, and other engagement activities for the Change Management team
  • Define and measure Change Management team success metrics, and monitor change progress corporately
  • Liaise with various stakeholder groups to identify opportunities for change management support
  • Ensure change management support inquiries and needs, as well as feedback on ongoing initiatives, are tracked and reviewed with the Change Management director on a regular basis
  • Liaise with change representatives of initiative teams within the corporate change management portfolio to track change outcomes, impacts to staff, and risks to project success
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in corporate communications, training, process improvement, and information technology as needed to staff change management resources on corporate initiatives
  • Coordinate with other Global Operations & Improvement team members to coordinate activities that are cross-cutting in Process Improvement, Project Management, and Quality Management
  • Perform other project management duties and responsibilities consistent with the requirements of the Global Operations & Improvement team as set by the immediate supervisor
  • Develop and maintain corporate resources for change management, available within Chemonics’ Global Quality Management System
  • Conduct informational sessions about Change Management team scope, and how change principles will be applied to Chemonics’ strategic and corporate initiatives
  • Apply a structured methodology for coordinating organizational change management efforts
  • Plan and support consultations with strategic and corporate initiative teams, including reviewing work plans, assessing change readiness, and identifying key stakeholders to inform change management strategies
  • Apply change management processes and tools to help develop change strategies that support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative
  • Consult and coach executive sponsors, project teams, and subject matter experts on the implementation of change strategies
  • Support collection of feedback as needed from managers/supervisors and front-line staff engaged in change efforts
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics to support change adoption and project success as needed
  • Serve as change representative on initiative teams, as needed
  • Develop a basic understanding of international development, foreign assistance programming, and Chemonics’ present and past contributions
  • Participate on proposal teams to provide research, writing, costing, coordination and administrative support to proposals, and/or other marketing materials produced by the new business unit
  • Learn the fundamentals of personnel recruitment, including proper communication techniques for discussing scopes of work and allowances/benefits for team members, and obtaining required documentation; recruit and suggest candidates for a variety of positions, including highly specialized consultants and Chiefs of Party
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, vendors, partners, and consultants that serve to enhance Chemonics’ reputation
  • Communicate information in a way that demonstrates a basic understanding of development assistance work, Chemonics’ culture, values, and practices, and the specific scope and nature of project and proposal assignments
  • Contribute positively to a work environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect for differences, accepting and giving constructive feedback
  • Demonstrates leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in project management, organizational development, change management, business process management and improvement, or related work required.
  • For internal applicants, Associate B’s, Manager A’s, and Manager B’s are eligible to apply.
  • Knowledge of Chemonics’ external and internal clients and their requirements preferred.
  • Experience working on USAID or other donor projects, especially in a developing country, a plus
  • Experience working in an internal support services function a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong stakeholder and client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively, multitask, work under tight deadlines, and learn new concepts quickly.
  • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of 4-8 weeks per year and consider placement on long-term overseas assignments.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages preferred
