We seek qualified candidates for the position of Chief Compliance Officer in Research Triangle Park, NC or Washington, DC.

Position Summary:

The Chief Compliance Officer leads FHI 360’s Office of Compliance and Internal Audit (OCIA) with ongoing direct reporting to the Audit Committee of the BOD. OCIA functions as an independent and objective body to implement, improve, and create state of the art compliance, audit, and enterprise risk management functions at headquarters and globally The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that FHI 360’s Board of Directors, Executive Management, and all employees are fully cognizant of and act in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies of US Federal, other bilateral and multinational agencies as well as major organizations relevant to the activities they are performing on behalf of those clients and that FHI 360 policies and procedures are being followed. This visible leader will develop systems to assess, coordinate, and improve FHI 360’s compliance efforts and create the necessary components of an effective compliance program so that all staff are aware of, adequately trained, and take personal responsibility for actions in accordance with FHI 360’s Code of Ethics and compliance matters relevant to every employee’s role within the organization.

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Political Science or related field with 15 year(s) of relevant Compliance or Audit experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. International development or government contracting experience required. Significant experience at an executive level role within a comparable organization, i.e., Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, etc.

Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal agency policies governing contracting regulations, including but not limited to the FAR, A-133, A-122, OMB Circulars and other federal standard provisions and administrative guidelines for grants and cooperative agreements. Deep experience and knowledge of the compliance and regulatory requirements of multilateral and bilateral donor agencies (USAID, U.S. State Department, agencies within Health and Human Services, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, AusAID, DFID, etc.), as well as major foundations is essential.
