To strengthen our Health & Social Infrastructure team at GITEC-IGIP we are looking for an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer (f/m) with international work experience as Project Manager in Roads and / or Building Construction projects.

Your work environment

To strengthen our Health & Social Infrastructure team at GITEC-IGIP we are looking for an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer (f/m) with international work experience as Project Manager in Roads and / or Building Construction projects. In this position you will coordinate - in accordance with your professional qualifications - hospital, school and / or road construction projects in international development and financial cooperation projects and support these on regular short-term expert assignments on the project location.

Your main duties in this position Technical Duties:
  • Planning, acquisition and coordination of international infrastructure projects (construction of hospitals, schools, roads etc.) including regular international travels
Project Management:
  • Technical and organisational coordination of projects (“backstopping”)
  • Contract and financial management on the projects
  • Coordinate and interact with donors (KfW, GIZ, World Bank, etc.) and project partners
  • Assignment schedules and leading of international and local experts
  • Financial project planning and controlling in close cooperation with our project controllers
  • Keeping up with deadlines and support on project reporting
Project Acquisition:
  • Keeping in close contact with clients and pursuing international projects plans
  • Preparation of expressions of interest and proposals (staffing, international syndication, methodology, proposal preparation and coordination, preparation of financial proposals)
Your profile Educational background:
  • Full academic qualification in Civil Engineering, Architect or equivalent
Essential experience and skills:
  • At least 5 years proven international work experience in planning and project leadership of construction building projects and infrastructure projects in the work phases 1 to 9 of the HOaI in different topological, climatical and social-cultural context
  • Knowledge of international building laws, standards and guidelines like FIDIC
  • High intercultural competences and project experience in developing countries are obligatory
  • Fluent language skills (oral and written) in German and English are mandatory
  • Further language skills are an advantage, especially in French, Spanish and Russian
  • Mobility (also on short-notice)
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, self-starter personality as well as distinctive communication skills
