Apprio is seeking an experienced Communication Analyst to support our fully funded contract with USAID. The Office of Program and Management Operations (PMO) within the Bureau of Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA) for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) enables and facilitates effective and efficient internal information flow and engagement among many other programmatic and operational functions. PMO is responsible for supporting and engaging in various programmatic areas to facilitate the broader efforts of USAID staff of LPA to fulfill the Agency’s mission and core values.
The Communication Analyst serves as a key member of the PMO Team, reporting to the Director of the PMO office, located in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs at USAID. The Analyst works closely with other members of the PMO team and our Internal Communications (IC) team to lead and contribute to key products, events, and services.
Original Written Content Development and Copy-Editing - 50%
Serves as the primary author for original content, works closely with other members of the PMO and IC team on products related to events and projects
Drafts original content for the following products, including but not limited to:
- Agency Notices
- Talking points for the Office of the Administrator and Senior Leadership team
- Social media content
- Email communications
- Meeting notes/summary of conclusions (SOCs)
Effectively collaborates with technical experts from across the Agency to identify and compile relevant information for informational products
Provides consistent and high-quality copy editing to all information products before delivery
Information Response and Request Management - 35%
Primary POC for non-USAID audiences interested in receiving information, either by email or phone, about USAID.
Researches within USAID holdings or other readily accessible sources to acquire the necessary information to respond to requests.
Interprets the information required to respond to requests and ensures it responses reflect current USAID policies and practices.
Transmits information to requestors either through email, one-on-one briefings, groups sessions, telephone or other means.
Maintains records of information requests and analyzes the data to determine trends in information being requested over varying periods of time.
Document Management and Clearances - 10%
Serves as the team’s document manager, maintaining accessible files of current and historical products and ensuring version control for final deliverables
Creates and maintains a tracking system for recording and sharing the status team’s simultaneous deliverables
Provides facilitation and oversight for the clearance process
Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Required Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience related in writing, responding to request and research information; 1 to 3 years of foreign development related experience
