Strengthening and supporting our Health & Social Infrastructure Department, we are searching for a motivated and experienced Construction Engineer (f/m) with international project management experience with focus on hospitals and other (public) buildings.

The Vacancy

Strengthening and supporting our Health & Social Infrastructure Department, we are searching for a motivated and experienced Construction Engineer (f/m) with international experience as Project Manager (f/m) in the construction of hospitals and other (public) buildings. In this position, you coordinate hospital and / or school / university projects in the context of international development aid. This also includes regular short- or long-term project assignments on the project sites, ideally also as a Project Team Leader. The position is to be filled with immediate start.

Your Main Duties in this Position

Technical Duties

  • Planning, acquisition and coordination of international infrastructure projects (construction and interior works of hospitals, schools / universities etc.) including project travels abroad

Project Management

  • Project coordination
  • Contract and financial management of the projects
  • Coordination and cooperation with the client (KfW, GIZ, World Bank etc.) and project partners
  • Assignment scheduling and organisation of international and local technical project staff
  • Financial project planning and controlling in cooperation with project administration
  • Deadline control and support in project reporting

Acquisition of Projects

  • Keeping close contact with client and following new project approaches
  • Preparation of pre-qualifications / expressions of interest and proposals (staff definition, international syndication, concept for project implementation, tendering and tender coordination, preparation of financial proposals)

Your Expertise / Profile

  • Graduate construction engineer or architect (German Diplom, Master degree, chartered engineer or equivalent)
  • Long standing and international experience in planning and project coordination of construction projects and infrastructure projects in the work phase 1 to 9 HOAI in different topological, climatical and social-cultural contexts
  • Knowledge of international construction law, standards and guidelines like FIDIC
  • High intercultural competence and project experience in developing countries are a prerequisite
  • Very good German and English language skills (at least level C1 CEFR) are compulsory
  • Further language skills are a plus, especially in French, Spanish or Russian
  • Willingness to travel (also at short notice)
  • Ability to work in a team, good and readiness of mind as well as excellent communication skills
  • Good construction specific IT and MS Office skills
