(5-6 consultants in the fields of: (1) rural development including rural infrastructure; (2) project/program evaluation; (3) agriculture; (4) fisheries; (5) environment; (6) health; (7) education; (8) public sector management and governance)

Position starting date: Immediate

Position’s location: Any state in the US (telework negotiable); field work in developing countries required

Contract length: Full-time

Position summary:

The Consultant works for international development projects as a core member of project teams.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Bidding stage of the project: (1) provide technical inputs to the preparation of bidding documents for development projects, including Expression of Interests and technical and financial proposals.
  • Implementation stage of the project: (1) undertake assigned tasks and responsibilities independently, and in collaboration with the other members of the international consultant team; (2) coordinate with funding agencies, counterparts, and any other stakeholders to undertake assigned tasks; (3) prepare reports and deliverables assigned, and provide constructive feedback to the works and reports of other team members.
  • Mentor junior or mid-career staff and consultants of IC Net to assist in their growth and development as professionals.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree, or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in development projects funded by international donor agencies; the experience in leadership positions (e.g., team leader or deputy) of international consultant team is preferred, but not required.
  • Should be interested in donors such as JICA and expanding their working relationship with other donors.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and patiently in multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrated capacity to find solutions through negotiating with clients and counterparts.
  • Excellent spoken and written command of English, Spanish and Japanese; good command of other languages is an asset.
  • Excellent report-writing skills, including organizing and putting together coherently the inputs by team members in English, Spanish and Japanese.
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills
