Public Sector Management Practice at Maxwell Stamp PLC
The London-based Public Sector Management (PSM) practice centre is dedicated to helping governments and their development partners in fragile states and developing economies. This work draws on the professional experience and technical knowledge of our staff in areas including public sector governance, domestic revenue generation, public expenditure management, and anticorruption. We strive to offer customised solutions that are based on locally-defined problems, in ways that fully reflect and respect local absorptive capacity.
About the Role
The successful candidate would join a small team of consultants that have a track record in winning and implementing technical assistance contracts in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Asia from international development donors such as DFID, the World Bank and the UN agencies, among others.
The role involves contributing to growing our portfolio of contracts by conducting business development activities such as project scoping and country visits, networking and representation, partnership building, technical and commercial proposal coordination and writing, programme and concept design. This position will also offer the opportunity for the Consultant/Senior Consultant to provide technical and project management inputs, in London and overseas, to our portfolio of active projects and programmes.
The successful applicant will have at least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, and knowledge and some experience in at least two of our key thematic areas:
- Public Financial Management,
- Public Sector Governance and Accountability,
- Domestic Resource Mobilisation,
- Anti-corruption Interventions.
We are looking for consultants who:
- Understand international development;
- Are well versed in the vocabulary, current issues and policy debates concerning public sector management;
- Are skilled in creating positive, professional and trusting working relationships within and outside MSP;
- Are able to hold informed conversations with clients about their consulting business;
- Have strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and engaging documents;
- Are passionate about developing themselves technically and professionally.
