SNV Netherlands Development Organisation seeks to fill the following position:

Country Director Vietnam

Duty station: Hanoi, Vietnam

SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation. Founded in the Netherlands 50 years ago, we have built a long-term, local presence in 39 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors works with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.

For more information on our operations in Vietnam, visit our website: http://www.snv.org/country/vietnam

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995, and currently has over 80 national and international staff. Vietnam has become a middle income country, although pockets of poverty still remain, mostly in ethnic minority communities. Increasing urbanisation has also created new pockets of poverty in and around the cities.

Our team works hand-in-hand with communities, government agencies and businesses, in some of the remotest and poorest areas of the country to design and implement market based solutions to overcome poverty in the Agriculture, Energy and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene sectors addressing cross cutting topics such as of gender, climate change and inclusive business. SNV Vietnam operates from a head office in Hanoi and project offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, Lao Cai, Dak Lak, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.

SNV’s poverty reduction efforts focus on the Agriculture, Energy, and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) sectors.
