This position is for Total 25 person months in Bangladesh funded by ADB.
The international Curriculum and Textbook Development Specialist will be a member of the TST 2, and will be located in the Primary Curriculum Wing of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
He/She will:
(i) Provide technical advice and support on primary curriculum and textbook development to the TST 2 Specialist in Quality Improvement in Schools and Classrooms.
(ii) Assist with developing operational guidelines, systems and manuals for the TST 2 on specialist aspects relating to the Primary Curriculum Wing of the NCTB.
(iii) Analyze the recommendations of the Organizational and Institutional Capacity Review for institutional reform, and provide specialist advice on strengthening the capacity of the NCTB.
(iv) Provide technical advice and support to the Curriculum Wing of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) to provide training for their officials to improve professional standards in primary curriculum, primary textbook development and classroom assessment.
(v) Provide staff training and , resources, recommend suitable curriculum, teaching and learning materials, assist with curriculum development, revision of textbooks and instructional materials, and assistance with the revision of competency-based tests and the improvement of texts and other instructional materials for primary schools.
(vi) Provide specialist advice on the design and preparation of Supplementary Reading Materials (SRM) and Teachers’ Guides for primary schools.
(vii) Prepare all necessary reports relating to the work of the TST 2 and the NCTB as required by the Program Director, Joint Program Director, CTA and International Specialist in quality improvement in schools and classroom.
(viii) Undertake any other activities as requested by the authority.
