Job Description

Chemonics is recruiting a manager to work closely with the director of curriculum and instruction to design and maintain the global learning curriculum, ensuring that existing and future training content directly supports global workforce learning needs. This position collaborates with stakeholders and subject matter experts from around the world to assess learning needs, design and implement content, and review learning outcomes. Works with the team director to set the strategy for meeting training and behavior change needs on a global scale. The manager oversees implementation of headquarters-based classroom based training courses, manages the LMS and facilitates divisional retreats and strategic meetings. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:
  • Oversees curriculum team (self and associate) responsible for the planning, maintenance, development (with Instructional Designers), and implementation of global learning curricula, utilizing best practices in adult learning and technical expertise in learning management
  • With the team director, develops overall strategy for dissemination of existing home office training programs to a global audience
  • Manages relationships with relevant subject matter experts around all areas of learning program including needs identification, training content design and development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as in informal learning and knowledge sharing
  • Manages overall training project plan including timeline, liaising closely with learner engagement team, instructional designers, and instructional technology team to ensure timely and successful launch and evaluation of training content
  • In collaboration with co-manager, sets processes, structure, and resources for classroom based training worldwide including instructor support and preparation .
  • Manage s external training program
  • Builds and maintains technical knowledge in adult learning, instructional design, instructional technology, and training delivery by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Designs and facilitates team development sessions and mentors junior department staff in designing and delivering these sessions
  • Leads meetings with subject matter experts to help identify and prioritize new training content pipeline
  • Actively participates in new business activities, including proposal teams, in increasingly difficult roles and being provided technical input related to training and development proposal efforts
  • Supervises direct report, delegating and managing workload while supporting their professional development
  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Minimum 3 years of management and/or technically relevant work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • For internal applicants, Associate B’s and Managers of both levels eligible to apply
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to think creatively and contribute to the team’s overall vision of a globally accessible training platform
  • Flexibility and an ability to adjust to changing priorities and targets preferred
  • Willingness to adapt to the changing needs and pressures of the team with composure and ingenuity
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of a company-wide training program
  • Knowledge/awareness of best practices of in adult learning, blended learning and development program design and management in developing country contexts preferred
  • Ability to liaise with global stakeholders across the company from all levels, executive to entry-level
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience managing workflow with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple partners and evolving priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
