Job Description

IMC Worldwide is seeing a Data Management Specialist to join their team. This position will be technical and programmatic lead and contributor for data management assessments and projects in developing countries, particularly in Global Health programs.

Potential tasks include

  • Design, implementation, and performance evaluations of data systems (paper and digital)
    • Data governance systems
    • data metrics
    • Quality improvement processes
  • Design, implementation, and performance evaluations of ICT4D solutions
    • Requirements development
    • Translation of requirements into technology specifications
    • Assessment of management, and budgetary needs
    • oversight of IT vendors and subcontractors
  • Perform data quality assessments
  • Project management (timelines and financial management)
  • Presentations, training, and capacity building of clients and stakeholders
  • Management of junior staff, consultants & subcontractors

While the position can be held remotely, ability to travel (when COVID restrictions pass) approximately 25% of the year.

Required experience

  • 10 years of of experience in international development /humanitarian response
  • 5 plus years in ICT4D/digital development
  • 5 plus years in data management/data governance in development/humanitarian settings
  • 5 plus years of monitoring and evaluation and project management

Preferred experiences

  • Management of USAID cooperative agreements and/or cost plus contracts a strong plus
  • GIS, open data, responsible data, digital inclusion experience a strong plus
  • Coding, database design, ICT project management a strong plus
  • Field experience in Lower and middle income countries preferred
  • Experience in health (especially HIV), gender, and other development sectors
  • Additional language abilities (French, Arabic, Spanish)

Education

  • Masters or PhD preferred in related field
  • Bachelors plus 3 years of additional relevant experience
