Job Description

Do you believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, quality healthcare? Are you driven by creativity, bold ideas, and disruptive innovation? Are you inspired by exceptionally talented, diverse, impact-oriented colleagues? Do you thrive in a dynamic, high-growth, fast-paced environment? Most importantly, are you fed-up, even disgusted, with the status quo of foreign assistance in the health sector? Then consider a job with ThinkWell.

ThinkWell is a growing, flexible health systems organization, with both global influence and local grounding. Our focus is on driving transformation in the global health space by always questioning and disrupting conventional wisdom about what works or what can or cannot be done. We develop solutions tailored to a client’s context and political realities and do not replicate global models and all-purpose solutions and believe in pragmatisms over ideology. We know that to drive change, we must focus on how the world could be, rather than making excuses for the status quo.

ThinkWell is recruiting for a Design Lab Specialist to support new growth areas. This includes, but is not limited to, traditional donor agencies, private foundations, corporations, philanthropists, and development finance institutions. This dynamic role requires a person who is a natural networker, can understand, frame and articulate complex information into compelling narratives, can collaboratively coordinate with busy people, and has a ‘get-it-done’ attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, preparation, coordination and management of high-quality proposals
  • Participate in recruiting efforts and drafting of proposal resumes and personnel sections, corporate capabilities, and management plans
  • Explore new global and local opportunities and partnerships with program leads, teams and country representatives
  • Maintain, refine and improve existing Design Lab processes, tools and systems
  • Support new business lead generation, track forecasts and generate analytics
  • Collaborate on early opportunity identification, capture and research
  • Maintain and update client relationship management tools, databases and knowledge management systems
  • Update and training staff on Design Lab processes, tools and systems
  • Represent ThinkWell at industry and networking events, conferences, partner and client meetings

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in International Relations/Affairs, Public Health, Economics, Business, Education or related area preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with a management consulting firm, international NGO or professional services organization
  • Established track record of preparing, coordinating and managing high-quality technical proposals
  • Strong writing, quantitative, negotiating and research skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in a foreign language a plus
  • Ability to learn quickly, take direction and work independently
  • Ability to use creative, collaborative and consultative approaches to resolving issues
  • Willingness to travel, including to low income countries

Who You Are

  • Action-oriented problem solver with an ‘anything is possible’ ethos
  • Burning penchant to fearlessly challenge conventional wisdom, and committed to catalyze transformation of the status quo of the development sector
  • Systems thinker with grounded, pragmatic understanding of the complexities of achieving development outcomes
  • Ability to flourish in a dynamic organization that fundamentally values evolution through iteration over stability and predictability
  • Strong willingness and thirst to learn
  • Ability to externally represent and convey ThinkWell’s passion, conviction, and desire to see change
  • Independent thinker who thrives working in a team
