We have an outstanding opportunity for a Director, Human Resources and Facilities Management Division under the Office of the Chief Operating Officer.

The post holder will support the work of the Commonwealth Secretariat by leading on the development and implementation of effective, responsive and efficient people management strategies, policies, and planning management systems that are aligned to organisational needs and best practice. Particular responsibilities include: designing, implementing and continuously reviewing an overarching HR people management strategy, aligned with the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Strategic Plan; overseeing HR planning (including rotation and succession planning, recruitment and selection, learning and development and exit management), performance management, reward management, and employee relations; and leading the Facilities Management Section to ensure there is a supportive and enabling environment with regards to health, safety and security systems, fit-for-purpose workspace and facilities services.

To be considered, you will need to have a Post-Graduate University Degree or equivalent in Management, Human Resource Management/Development, Public or Business Administration or a related area. Also required are: a minimum of 15 years’ experience in HR management, of which at least 8 years is in a senior HR management role in an international or governmental organisation and at least 8 years’ knowledge and experience in Facilities Management. The ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds, and treat people equally with dignity and respect is also a requirement.
