Job Responsibilities

CDM Smith is seeking an International Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist for the USAID Recycle Jordan Activity. The International Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist shall provide oversight of all aspects of the program related to the Project’s environmental and social performance and compliance.

He or she will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the Environmental and Social Impact Management Program Manual and for carrying out oversight of the implementation of the Contractor’s Environmental and Social Management Plans.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in science or engineering related field such as civil engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, or related technical field.

    • Approximately 10 years demonstrable experience with managing and providing oversight for projects compliance to environmental permits, health, safety and regulations.

    • Operational knowledge of international environmental guidelines and policies, specifically, IFC Social and Environmental Performance Standards, and environmental and social mitigation measures for similar projects in the past 5 years.

    • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.

    • Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
