Save the Children Australia is seeking several competitively offered opportunities under the Australian Government (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) funded Water for Women Fund for the design and implementation of gender and socially inclusive WaSH projects. The stated aim of the Water for Women Fund is to raise the bar in terms of gender and socially-inclusive analysis, design and program delivery in WaSH, and in doing so to lead global practice. It will maintain attention on program quality towards the achievement of sustainable WASH outcomes. Gender and socially inclusive WaSH projects will be delivered, which are also inter-linked with other critical development issues such as water resources management (WRM), climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk reduction (DRR) and nutrition. The Fund will operate in a range of countries in South and South-East Asia and the Pacific.
Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.
We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict – we are there on the ground.
Where you come in:
For our International Programs team to successfully compete for these WaSH projects, we are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) from suitably qualified and motivated individuals. You will hold an interest in taking a Lead Manager position for one or more projects in South and South-East Asia.
Please note: You can currently be based anywhere in the world to express your interest in this project.
If we could compose the perfect you…
… Ideally you are a highly skilled WaSH project implementation leader who holds up-to-date information and ideas about inclusive and effective WaSH practices. You can demonstrate where you’ve applied these practices into programs you have managed or influenced, and may have some experience and skills in project design. With the projects located in South and South-East Asia, your cultural awareness and contextual work experience will see you hit the ground running. Having managed complex projects in an international development context; your honed communication skills see you strategically manage project teams across geographically diverse international locations.
This role requires:
* Demonstrated leadership experience in WaSH practices and projects
* Relevant WaSH education qualifications
* Experience and / or qualifications relating to gender and disability inclusion will be highly regarded
* Experience and/or qualifications relating to other critical development issues will be highly regarded
* Experience working with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) would be highly regarded
Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.
It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. Remuneration and associated arrangements are negotiable.
As an EOI, this role will be dependent on successfully securing one or more of the projects through the competitive DFAT process. Projects are expected to run for a 5-year period and will incorporate an initial (up to 6 months) design period prior to the start of the implementation project.
Interested in being considered for the opportunity, we’d love to hear from you. Submit your EOI including your CV by clicking on one of the buttons in the ‘Apply’ section.
