Position overview

As Feasibility Study Specialist you are dedicated toward understanding local needs and environmental constraints of Ukrainian refugees across countries Romania, Ukraine, and Poland to identify the most reliable way to (1) deploy digital humanitarian aid in the form of virtual currency, and (2) deploy humanitarian aid in the form of traditional cash (i.e., fiat currency). The contract will span between 7 to 9 weeks (approximately 2 months) with the expectation that the feasibility study is developed from start to finish and requires at least 30 hours per week of availability. The role will report to our Head of Social Impact, and does have the potential of transforming into a long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • The Feasibility Specialist will work with Umoja Labs’ NGO partner to define the main study objectives and the optimal site profile for each country within the feasibility study

  • As Feasibility Specialist, you will create the initial list of potential virtual currency disbursement solutions that can be deployed in the study’s focal countries

  • As Feasibility Specialist, you will coordinate follow-up and due diligence meetings with Umoja Labs and our NGO partner to make clarifications as to how certain details should develop within the feasibility study

  • The Feasibility Specialist will communicate with project teams on project/ regional level to fine-tune strategy and methodology of initial and follow-up site contacts depending on indication, regional particularities, and technologies in use

  • In cooperation with the project team, the Feasibility Specialist will maintain a study site identification tracker for further site evaluation and selection activities

  • The Feasibility Specialist will liaise with project teams to evaluate status and progress of site identification, to identify and highlight any potential risks or issues to timelines or objectives

  • In cooperation with Legal, the Feasibility Specialist will perform due diligence check of regulatory and legal limitations applicable to the recommended investigators or clinical sites

  • The Feasibility Specialist will participate in project team meetings during study startup, as needed

  • The Feasibility Specialist will support the project team throughout study startup and further on, whenever additional rounds of site identification are necessary, and/or additional information on the site/investigator is needed

Requirements

  • College/University degree in Life Sciences or an equivalent combination of education, training & experience

  • Prior experience in clinical research (monitoring, Feasibility/Study Start-Up experience) is a plus

  • Prior experience facilitating feasibility studies within the social sector is a plus

  • Understanding of Good Clinical Practice, local laws and applicable regulations in the region

  • Full working proficiency in English

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as time management skills

  • Advanced proficiency in standard MS Office applications/Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment under compressed deadlines across several projects, each with unique requirements

  • Working across CET and EST hours (Europe and US)
