Notice: Funding contingent opportunity for the duration of the project with an estimate start date of August/September 2020. Must have previous experience managing financials, budget and regulation for USAID program.

Position Summary

Teach For All seeks a Finance and Grants Manager to work alongside the Program Director and Program Deputy Director to deliver an exciting new project across Latin America and the Caribbean. This new stream of work would be funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and aims to develop a pipeline of leaders working at all levels of the education system to ensure children have access to quality education. The successful candidate will be able to oversee all financial and budgeting elements of the programme, ensuring Teach For All are following all USAID regulations. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, create and maintain systems to increase the efficiency of the program, produce high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

In this role, the post holder will report to the Program Director and be part of our Americas regional team, which aims to grow the capacity and impact of Teach For All’s partners across the Americas region. Current country partners in the region include Mexico, Haiti, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.

Key areas of implementation include teacher development, scale and capacity-building efforts across system actors and institutions, and strengthening Teach For All’s capacity in the region to accelerate our impact and scale across the region.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance and Grants Manager shall be dedicated to the project full-time and main responsibilities include:

  • Provide overall technical and administrative leadership in the areas of financial management and grants management for the project.

  • General responsibilities will include accounts payable, cost allocation, quarterly reporting, payroll, budget preparation, grants management, and tracking support.

  • In addition, the Manager will be responsible for setting up, managing, and providing technical assistance related to the grant-making component of the program activities.

  • S/he will ensure that all financial and grants management and reporting are compliant with USAID grants management and financial management regulations.

  • Develop annual fiscal year budgets with the Deputy Project Director as well as developing and implementing grant budgeting and forecasting systems.

  • Keep the grant files updated with budgets, grant contracts and agreements.

Required Experiences

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in grants management or program development in Latin America

  • Experience of managing financials, budget and regulations for a previous USAID program is required

  • Post-graduate qualifications in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or Accounting preferred

  • Fluency in English required and Spanish preferred

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, leadership, creative problem-solving, and ethical management;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to meet juggle competing priorities, meet demanding deadlines and work under pressure

  • Ability to work effectively within a complex structured team.

  • Good collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, writing, and by phone

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships. Team oriented

  • Ability to provide ideas and recommendations to resolve routine issues

  • High level of integrity and commitment to professional responsibilities

Work Authorization
Candidates for this position must possess local work authorization in order to be considered.

Travel and Hours
Travel expected, approximately 10% when it is safe to do so and accordance with local travel guidelines. Given that we work across time zones, some non-traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire, prior work experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
