The Position: Finance Manager
PADF works with a very diverse donor base, requiring agile and adaptable finance processes while maintaining rigorous compliance. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance and Risk, and working closely with headquarters and field staff, the Finance Manager will play a contributing role in:

  • Budgeting, costing, internal and external reporting, and other support for financial analysis.
  • Supporting the integration of new technical financial systems
  • Providing administrative and compliance support
  • Reviewing supporting documentation of procurements and assistance programs
  • Other not listed, but assigned by supervisor

Personal Characteristics

  • Interpersonal and diplomatic skills – To be an effective Finance Manager, the person in this role must have the ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships across the organization.
  • Efficiency – Non-profits operate in a context where it is essential to be able to do more with less while keeping high quality standards. The Finance Manager must be a master of efficiency, able to use their own time and resources with the most impact, to prioritize and simultaneously handle multiple tasks, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Communication – The Finance Manager must be able to communicate with clarity, completeness and brevity whether that is verbally or in writing.
  • Energy, sense of urgency, and passion for social impact – Innate sense of urgency, the drive and perseverance to see what needs to be done or improved and get it done. Ability to work independently without requiring heavy supervision. Interest for empowering vulnerable communities in Latin American and the Caribbean and/or nonprofit operations is a plus.
  • Tech savvy - The candidate will be highly skilled at leveraging technology to implement finance processes across the hemisphere.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum 8+ years’ work in a leading non-profit organization and bachelor’s, master’s or an MBA with a specialization in finance or other relevant degree(s) in finance or related field (or the equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with Great Plains, Power BI, SharePoint, Unit 4 or other financial and technical systems desired.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. French and Portuguese are a plus.
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of USG regulations over assistance and contracts; including Uniform Guidelines, 2 CFR 200, FAR
  • Experience in preparing annual external audit and 990 report
This a remote base position, the candidate can work remotely from any location in the US or within the LAC region. Travel to DC and within LAC may be required. More About PADF
