Project Overview

Position Purpose
Reporting to the [Senior Finance Officer, FP&A], the [Finance Specialist] is responsible for providing overall financial and analytical support to Pact and its subsidiaries related to budgetary and data collection from a variety of corporate financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence on projects by researching and analyzing financial and programmatic areas of given project
  • Analyze financial information relating to specific subsidiaries, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how the organization is positioned to deliver for beneficiaries
  • Conduct business modeling and assess ROI, NPV, and Cash Projections
  • Analyze project data to eliminate financial risk during projects start up, implementation, and close out.
  • Provide support on reviewing budget realignments, making sure those are realistic cost projections and in compliance with Pact’s cost policies and full cost recovery objective. Ensure that the budgets are numerically accurate and internally consistent with Pact policies, that the various datasheets/tabs are adequately linked and that the budget notes are consistent
  • Perform variance analysis of budget vs. actuals; cash flow projections; business analytics; and cash management assessments
  • Provide support in the annual preparation of the fiscal year budgets for HQ operations and Country Offices
  • Assist in the design and development of financial reports, data mining and data warehouse activities for the ERP platform
  • Insure data integrity in all reporting applications
  • Utilize computer skills in the preparation of data used for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Assist on the preparation of presentations to the Board of Directors and the Finance and Audit Committee of the respective subsidiaries
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by extracting and filtering accounting/customer data from internal systems
  • Review and prepare working capital request from field offices. Ensuring that risk in maintain at the lowest level possible
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements & Essential Skills

  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of excel and financial modeling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial software and accounting systems for reporting purposes
  • Working knowledge of generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Fluent English and proficiency in another language
  • BA in Finance or Accounting (with a strong understanding of systems and IT)
  • At least 3-5 years of valuation and financial modeling experience (DCF, NPV, ROI)
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong numerical ability and quantitative skills
  • Self-confidence, drive, and tenacity
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to take initiative, being flexible and innovative
  • Interest in current international development affairs and their impact on the market
  • US Citizenship/Permanent Residency required

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferable.
