Dexis is seeking an experienced Freelance Copywriter to support Dexis’ communications objective of positioning itself as a contributor and thought leader in the field of international development by producing content that reflects the concerns to public sector leaders and discuss methods, backed by evidence, that can address these concerns. The content will take the form of written deliverables posted on Dexis’ website and then shared via social media platforms.
The deliverables will be approximately 750 words that take a solutions journalism approach to discussing a topic that exists in a narrow and relevant issue in foreign affairs (e.g. accountability in foreign assistance, role of the US in supporting the new Ethiopian government) and what type of interventions are currently taking place that make a difference. The topics will be jointly selected by the writer and the editorial point of contact at the firm. Dexis is considering approximately two to three such deliverables per month.
The ideal candidate will be one that has written for global affairs media (e.g. Foreign Policy) and/or organizations (e.g. Council for Security and International Studies, Gates Foundation), universities (e.g. Georgetown School of Foreign Service, MIT Poverty Action Lab) or for-profit or non-profit firms (e.g. Mercy Corps). We would require examples of previous related writing prior to engagement.
Only those applicants who meet the above criteria will be contacted for interview.
