FUNDRAISING AND PROJECT PROPOSAL EXPERT (LBOL/NRA/9293)
CUSO is looking for an individual to take on a challenging volunteer placement as the fundraising and project proposal expert with FCBC (Chiquitano Forest Conservation Foundation) a private non profit organization located in La Paz, Bolivia. This placement is focused on fundraising activities. The candidate will work along with the FCBC Executive Director, exploring and identifying potential donors, establishing contacts, preparing and translating proposals, and visiting financing entities. The cooperant will occasionally have to travel throughout the country, and abroad (short trips). A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with a proven capacity for networking. This placement is 24 months in length.
PLACEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing project profiles prepared in consensus with local stakeholders; - Identify potential sources of financing and donor entities; - Establish initial contacts with potential donors; - Prepare joint proposals and translate these proposals into English or French; - Participate and accompany the Executive Director on fundraising trips; - Generate innovative ideas benefiting the Chiquitano Model Forest. QUALIFICATIONS: - University degree in biology, forestry, environmental sciences or related degree; - Experience with developing project proposals related to funding investment in natural resources to strengthen rural communities; - Familiarity in contacting potential donors and financing entities. - Extensive experience in fundraising activities and duties; - Experience in Model Forests, their conceptual and practical development; - Willingness and ability for teamwork when designing profiles, projects, and proposals; - Good computer skills; - Bilingual (English/Spanish) both spoken and written; trilingualism (English/French/Spanish) would be an asset.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
The working languages of this placement is Spanish & English. Language training will not be provided by CUSO
