The Government of Nepal requested financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to improve the East-West Highway (EWH) by addressing deterioration of road asset conditions, poor safety conditions and limited cross-border connectivity. The project involves preparation of feasibility studies and detailed engineering designs of three four-lane highways, major and minor bridges associated with the above roads, and road safety improvements. The scope involves performance of appropriate road condition surveys; engineering design, specifications, bill of quantities, cost estimates; economic analysis; and social and environmental assessment. The project work will also involve preparation of bidding documents for the improvement works.
Bachelor’s Degree required and Master’s Degree preferred in Geotechnical Engineering and Geology
– 20 years overall experience
–15 years of experience in work for bridges and roads
–10 years of experience directly in geotechnical engineering
–Experience on five projects of a similar nature (road projects)
–Experience in wide geographic regions
–Fluency in English required.
