Accountable to enhance and protect Heifer’s organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight in accordance with Heifer’s Internal Audit Charter. The Global Internal Auditor assesses internal controls over key operational and financial activities, business processes, information systems and reporting and compliance functions, with coverage ranging from country office assessments and project compliance audits to entity-wide reviews. As a key member of Heifer’s Risk Management and Assurance team, the Global Internal Auditor will contribute to the annual risk-based internal audit plan, which informs the scope and prioritization of internal audit assignments for this position. Through risk assessments, internal assurance engagements and consulting activities, this function adds value by ensuring Heifer is meeting increasing requirements of a highly competitive donor environment.
Accountable to promote best-practices in risk management, internal audit and compliance assurance as a “third line of defense,” further strengthening stakeholder confidence in Heifer’s operational and oversight management functions. Will contribute to continuous improvement in all aspects of Heifer’s risk management program, including Heifer’s established programs designed to increase transparency and accountability.
