Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Global Technology Support Associate to work within its growing Global Health and Supply Chain Office (GHSCO) located in Arlington, VA. The Associate will provide technical support to an assigned division in our home office in addition to providing remote support field offices located around the world. The Associate will be assigned to support laptops, mobile devices, printers, A/V and provide Office 365 application expertise. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provides technical support to an assigned division in our home office in addition to providing remote support to field offices around the world
  • Troubleshoots hardware, software and application issues as well as detects and resolves connectivity problems, escalating more complex issues when needed
  • Resolves problems by addressing staff needs promptly and courteously
  • Provides formal and informal training to staff on how to use Chemonics’ technology solutions
  • Provides A/V support for conference rooms, including assisting and training end-users on the proper use of the A/V equipment
  • Tracks all service requests via a ticketing system to ensure appropriate service and follow up
  • Contributes to problem-resolution database and a knowledge-base for staff to access
  • Responsible for imaging, installing software, and configuring staff laptops as laptop hardware leases end and new laptops are issued
  • Works with Global Support Team to create and maintain operating system images with the latest updates
  • Configures user VOIP phones and voicemail
  • Contributes to and participates in project start-ups, including IT systems recommendations, design and optimization, and other initiatives to promote the stability and efficiency of the field office IT systems
  • Assists with providing quality control (inspections) and initial configuration of outbound IT equipment for field offices
  • Participates in new business work and assists with writing IT cost proposals for proposal teams
  • Maintains and expands technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks and participating in professional associations
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and work
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required
  • Demonstrated understanding of networking and system administration concepts including Active Directory
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Understanding of Office 365 applications and using SharePoint online as a document management system
  • Familiar with topics related to international development
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input to or write reports or documentation; ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise and persuasive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills with an attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload and complete work
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Proficiency in regional or geographic language preferred
