Department Overview
Both of Pact Thailand’s flagship programs, USAID Green Invest Asia and the Lower Mekong Initiative Sustainable Infrastructure Project (SIP), have grown in pipeline activity and programming size to require an in-house staff graphic designer to support marketing communications for both projects.
USAID Green Invest Asia is a technical assistance facility working to catalyze private investment for sustainable agriculture and forest landscapes across Southeast Asia by sustainable businesses working in this sector with investment. By 2022, USAID Green Invest Asia (GIA) aims to mobilize $400 million of investment that will result in a reduction or sequestration of 25 million tons CO2e of greenhouse gas emissions. GIA supports agriculture and forestry companies with strategies, assessments and advice to improve their sustainable commodity production, sourcing and business practices. In doing so, they become ready for investment, including sustainable financing from banks, impact funds, climate funds and other institutions in our financial network. A number of those financial institutions are also receiving GIA technical support through sustainable finance trainings, pipeline development, research and transaction support.
The U.S. Department of State-funded SIP works toward enhancing regional cooperation on policies and practices that inform large-scale infrastructural development by leveraging partnerships among programs and institutions in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. SIP is also a knowledge broker between the U.S. government and other key stakeholders working on Lower Mekong initiatives, including:- Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the European Union, Asian Development Bank and World Bank.
Position Purpose
Under the guidance of the Communication and Outreach Manager of USAID Green Invest Asia, the designer will deliver creative, innovative design ideas for print, electronic and web-based products that communicate Pact Thailand’s work in a timely, creative and compelling way, helping to solidify existing support and attract new investment. S/he will assume the lead in designing/packaging content for deliverables including, but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
With the support of the hiring manager, the graphic designer is expected to become familiar with and design content according to Pact branding and USAID branding requirements. S/he will be able to work independently, once provided with a design brief and content, to produce clean, compelling, audience-appropriate graphic design.
