Job Description

The Graphic Designer will extend the look and feel of the QED brand to reports, documents, and presentations as well as online website and social media. S/he will help maintain the corporate brand and design language by executing products that adhere to the QED brand in terms of typography, logos, color, CSS style sheets, icons, and imagery. The Graphic Designer will also work to visually enhance proposal pieces and project deliverables through charts, models, graphics, infographics, and introducing other style and layout elements. Additionally, the Graphic Designer will be proficient in transforming words and numbers into clear visual presentations, translating data into a compelling visual story – both in print and web formats. S/he will be comfortable working with complex concepts and data to create meaningful visual products. Skills to create interactive graphics, digital graphics, animated visuals, and videos will be an added advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen and maintain visual integrity of QED brand
  • Create visual design of all products, including enhancing usability of existing products and translating new product requirements into aesthetically pleasing, highly- useable design solutions
  • Understand and plan the expansion of QED-branded business and marketing materials through products such as email announcements, brochures, flyers, and interactive videos
  • Work with Business Development and project teams to translate information and concepts to visuals (charts, models, graphics and infographics) and to format and create consistent branded documents (proposals, reports and presentations)
  • Understand and analyze text from communications materials such as reports, news stories, and articles into supporting informative visuals that drive better decision-making
  • Create new interactive graphics and improve the UI/UX of the corporate website and internal SharePoint
  • Create inventive, experimental graphics for Social Media
  • Improve QED’s multimedia library by scaling up our photo and video collection; seek opportunities for innovative ways of visual storytelling through data
  • Support internal communications
  • Provide support to Talent Acquisition team for external recruitment materials
  • Update and maintain quality control over marketing materials and marketing products
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design / Communications or related area
  • 4-8 years’ experience working in similar graphics design, marketing, or communications role
  • Expertise and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Fluency in English
  • Portfolio of work showing comfort translating data into compelling and meaningful visuals - Reports, Flyers, Brochures, Presentations (Print). Interactive, motion media (using Flash) & web-related visuals preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written formats
  • Demonstrated conceptual and technical knowledge of colour theory, typography, layout, information/content design, UI and UX Design principles as it applies to graphic design
  • Superior skills in creating detailed branded reports and presentations with meaningful visual charts
  • Multimedia skills for video making
  • Comfort translating briefs, design concepts, and wireframes into effective visuals
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Experience working in an international setting preferred
