Network and Systems Support Technician
Health and Education Policy Plus (HEP+) is part of a seven -years global initiative jointly executed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Palladium Group, subject to funds availability.
HEP+ creates and promotes conditions for dialogue among civil society, government, and other social stakeholders. Its purpose is to improve access to health, nutrition, and education for peoples, mainly of indigenous and rural peoples in the western highlands.
Its main actions are aimed at fostering the implementation of the legal framework in health, nutrition, and education. It strengthens advocacy and policy dialogue processes in these fields. It provides tools and fosters the use of strategic information for the planning, monitoring, and accountability reports, to contribute with the governance.
To perform technical assistance activities regarding Information Systems, HEP+ requires hiring an individual with the necessary competences to support such.
Purpose of the post
Providing technical support in every aspect related to software, hardware, monitoring, and maintenance of the system, including equipment and different networks to guarantee connectivity. He/she must also keep it in full running and observe the optimal execution of support processes and back-up copies; everything under Headquarters’ standards and guidelines, taking into consideration the installation and update of software and hardware. The abovementioned shall be provided to all facilities and technical equipment of the staff and project offices, in both head office and field staff.
Activities under his/her responsibility
Prioritizing maintenance and guaranteeing the optimal running of support and back-up processes.
Being the direct link with the Headquarters to manage the installation and update of software and hardware, observing and complying with set guidelines and standards.
In charge of providing assistance, technical support, and maintenance to all facilities and technical equipment of the staff and project offices.
Providing maintenance to the office network, constantly monitoring connections and access points, solving problems immediately and efficiently.
Testing on regular bases the hardware, software, and network performance to make observations and proposals for its improvement or optimization.
Providing preventive maintenance to the office equipment and carrying out the corresponding cleansing according to manufacturers’ recommendations.Contacting the authorized service center if supplies or knowledge on the equipment are exceeded.
Taking into consideration HEP+ equipment manufacturers’ guidelines and recommendations in order to prevent the damage and to keep control of the corresponding warranties.
Verifying, tracking, and implementing new software used at HEP+ or the updates directly with the Headquarters’ support area that manages SOE resource.
Verifying, tracking, and managing accesses and authorizations according to HEP+ and Headquarters’ guidelines taking into consideration SOE.
Constant assistance and documentation of the activities and tasks assigned in HEP+ Technical Support platform.
Developing support material for users and/or conducting trainings regarding the updating process.
Inspecting equipment, especially in the case of new equipment, making sure everything is in perfect condition and complies with the features offered by the supplier.
Having control of HEP+ hardware and software inventory, updating and verifying on regular bases against the financial area controls.
Managing local resources and services or in the cloud, such as regular maintenance tasks or to respond to requirements.
Observing the compliance of policies and procedures from Palladium and USAID in the use of equipment and information management.
Availability to attend meetings regarding the Project as required by the Project Director and/or Component Manager.
Solving issues sent by the Component Management or the Project Steering and other ones designated.
