The Human Resources Director will function as a strategic advisor on all human resources functions and will partner with OGP’s executive leadership team to develop and implement strategies, programs, and systems to promote the achievement of OGP’s mission. At the same time, the Director will need to have the skills and ability to implement HR-related tasks, rather than delegating to others.
The Director will build credibility throughout the organization by establishing relationships with management and employees, and will be an accomplished communicator, listener and problem solver.
The Director will promote cross functional learning, collaboration, and the sharing of information, experiences, and best practices, while serving as vocal and visible champion of OGPs culture, values and approach, creating opportunities for inspiration, integration and improvement.
The Director will be responsible for designing, executing and maintaining progressive, flexible, and legally-sound human capital programs in a rapidly changing, global workplace.
This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer.
- Oversee the development and implementation of globally-focussed human resources policies and programs for the effective management of the organization’s global people resources; including, but not limited to, staffing, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, compliance, immigration, safety, training, and professional and organizational development.
- Lead the development and execution of employee recruitment, talent management, employee engagement and retention strategies, plans, and initiatives including the design and implementation of a training, mentoring and professional development and succession plans.
- Provide tools and guidelines to support and implement policies and procedures in a global framework, including domestic and international employment agreements, development of HRIS, benefit summaries and compensation guidelines
- Manage and execute the performance management processes and facilitate improvement of performance management systems and training for US-based and global staff
- Resolve complex employee relations issues in a balanced, fair and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques.
- Advise on the establishment and administration of compensation and benefit programs and strategies.
- Responsible for facilitating, coordinating and supervising of onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
- Maintain and update employee database with designation changes, appraisals, promotions, salary updates and other relevant staff details for both Us-based and global staff.
- Master’s degree in HR management, Business Administration, or a related field (or the equivalent combination of education and experience)
- A minimum of 10 years’ human resources management experience with demonstrated experience managing HR in an international, multi-location organization; including the ability to maintain productive relationships with employees through relevant PEO’s with consideration to contracts, compensation benefits, health care coverage, retirement plan, sick leave and other issues related to employees situated in our locations outside of the United States.
- Prior success in leading HR efforts to align structure with organizational strategy and in securing, retaining and building the talent needed for the organization to succeed.
- Experience creating and implementing professional development and succession programs and managing an organization through periods of change.
- Knowledgeable in all HR areas including staffing, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, compliance, immigration, training, professional and organizational development, with a strong understanding of labor laws and conditions of employment in a global context.
- Tech savvy, and experienced with HR information management systems.
- Creative, a visionary who can manage innovation; an effective strategist full of ideas and possibilities; sees multiple futures; has broad interests and knowledge.
- Demonstrates ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment and on deadline; aptitude for problem solving and decision making needed.
