Job Description

Responsibilities

The Humanitarian Response Program Associate supports all aspects of CORE’s program portfolio at headquarters, and is an active participant in the organization’s responses to crises.

  • Supports CORE programs.
    • Participates in field-based humanitarian response activities, supporting Team Leads with communications, assessments, and implementation of relief activities.
    • Monitors progress on indicators versus approved M&E plans.
    • Tracks program spending versus approved donor budgets.
    • Maintains grant reporting calendar, coordinates report preparation, and submits reports for grant agreements.
    • Works with COO to develop and adapt program templates and tools.
  • Provides administrative support to the organization.
    • Provides logistical support by managing travel arrangements, processing vendor and consultant invoices, and other tasks as assigned.
    • Supports the recruitment process for program staff and consultants.
    • Supports field programs by coordinating meeting logistics for remote management (scheduling and notetaking).
  • Supports program development initiatives.
    • Maintains proposal calendars and checklists.
    • Maintains database of submitted proposals and awards.
  • Represents the organization while in the field, and at relevant sector convenings.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of international development or emergency response related programming, project development, and grants administration.
  • Basic knowledge of emergency livelihoods, public health in emergencies, shelter or disaster risk reduction programming.
  • Fluency in English, written and oral. Fluency in a second language, preferably French or Spanish, would be an asset.
  • Able to handle and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, work productively in a dynamic team environment, with accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to mobilize to difficult locations and situations on short notice. Willingness to travel approximately 25-50% of time depending on organizational needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, Excel, and database maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of relevant programmatic support experience working for an international development, humanitarian response organization.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization.
