Job Description

Organizational Development Intern

Work Location:
Geneva

Expected Duration:
3 months

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Programme Management Officer, the Organizational Development Intern will undertake the following tasks to support OHCHR Strategic Planning, Management, Evaluation and Change Service (SPECS) functions, particularly in relation to organizational transformation:

  • Conduct research to support OHCHR’s advocacy, communications, and engagement on organizational development and transformation initiatives
  • Support the implementation of Organizational Effectiveness Action Plans (OEAPs)
  • Assist in procuring, analyzing, and presenting data to support advocacy, communications, engagement, and implementation
  • Support the development of communication materials such as reports, presentations, concept notes, infographics, and videos related to relevant initiatives
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Senior Programme Management Officer

Qualifications/Special Skills:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a second university degree or equivalent (Master’s level or higher)
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)

Other requirements:

  • A field of study closely related to the internship is an advantage
  • Previous work experience is not required
  • Excellent drafting ability in English is an advantage

Languages:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required
  • Knowledge of another United Nations official language is highly desirable

Additional Information:

  • Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations
  • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions
  • Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the internship location may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization
  • Successful candidates should discuss specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer
