Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity and Forests (KfW), Ethiopia
The Project concerns the establishment of new communal forests in the Amhara region adjacent to the “Borena Saynt National Park”.
Conservation of the biodiversity of priority protected areas and of selected forestry and afforested areas
Contribution to the sustainable use and to the improved livelihood of the local population and the country
The international financial systems specialist shall develop the capital provision facility based on funds provided by KfW as instrument to provide incentives for the farmers to invest in long term forest management, including:
Development of finance administration procedure for management of the fund
Development appropriate contract templates for contracts and supporting documents
Elaboration of fund flow and appropriate fund monitoring and replenishment procedures
Preparation of a manual for the operating of the fund
Provision of training in contract fund management
- Master degree in financial management, banking, microfinance or other relevant study fields with a minimum of 10 years experience in systems development and implementation
- Strong understanding of banking and microfinance in the region (countries of the Horn of Africa as well as Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania)
- Proven record in delivering high quality outputs on time and on budget.
The project will be located in the Amhara region.
The expert’s assignment will be of 6 months in total, while the overall project duration is expected to be 6 years.
