Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity and Forests (KfW), Ethiopia
The Project concerns the establishment of new communal forests in the Amhara region adjacent to the “Borena Saynt National Park”.
- Conservation of the biodiversity of priority protected areas and of selected forestry and afforested areas
- Contribution to the sustainable use and to the improved livelihood of the local population and the country
The Monitoring Systems Specialist will mainly focus on the impact and results monitoring of the project and shall design a compatible monitoring system afforestations and the project in general, including:
Developing the monitoring systems conceptually and technically
Training, instructing and supervising the enumerators and local experts in the collection and interpretation of data
Preparation of workshops in the annual project cycles
Develop recommendations for the improved implementation and sustainable continuation of afforestation activities based on the monitoring results
Document and discuss lessons learned for the Project in coordination with Ministry staff and other implementation institutions
- Master degree in forestry, rural development or other relevant study fields with a minimum of 10 years experience in project monitoring and evaluation
- Strong understanding of impact monitoring
- Proven record in delivering high quality outputs on time and on budget in the region (countries of the Horn of Africa as well as Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania)
The project will be located in the Amhara region.
The expert’s assignment will be of 6 months in total, while the overall project duration is expected to be 6 years.
