Job Description

Main Purpose

The main purpose of the internship is to provide the holder with an opportunity to gain practical work experience in an international organization. The training provided should benefit the intern and the divisional programme in which he/she works.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Provide input to the implementation of communication activities and outreach plans for NE flagship projects.

  • In close collaboration with the NE Communications Team, organize events, prepare talking points and write promotional articles for use in social media.

  • Develop reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in communication, journalism, international relations, or relevant discipline.

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe PDF.

  • General knowledge of United Nations System, non-proliferation, nuclear power, energy or climate change issues an asset.

  • Experience in writing and editing press releases, news features and video scripts an asset.

Applicant Eligibility

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.

  • Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree.

  • Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA’s internship programme.

  • Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.

  • Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
