Project title: TA support to the implementation of the Transformation Triggering Facility (TTF)
Brief description: The overall development objective to which the project, and therefore this programme estimate, are intended to contribute is to accelerate Ethiopia’s economic transformation, attain economic growth and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized industries in the priority industrial sectors through investment and export promotion, markets development, technology and knowledge transfer, and skills development.
The specific objective is to promote, encourage and facilitate private and foreign investments in Ethiopia and thereby its economic transformation.
Tasks to be conducted under the assignment:
- Strengthen the institutional framework for investment promotion of Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) through a series of capacity building Activities
- Identify the training needs of Ethiopian Investment Commission and Regional Investment Offices
- Review the existing One-stop shop service and the database system
- Support in the Preparation of a term of reference for the investment opportunities map
- Identify the target market and potential investors
- Support in the implementation of these projects in line with European Development fund (EDF) procedure
- Delivery of investment seminars in key investment facilitation and promotion areas
- Organize overseas investment promotion mission and study tour
Duration of the assignment: 6 months
Requirements:
Qualifications and skills
- University Graduate, a minimum of Masters Degree in a business related subject such as economics, Finance, Management, Investment Promotion, Industrial Economics, or other related fields (with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience)
General Professional Experience
- Minimum ten years working experience of which five years as a professional in international and domestic investment promotion.
Specific Professional Experience
- Demonstrable experience in working with/ building capacity of investment promotion agencies and/or sector associations
- Broad range of experience in investment promotion, ranging from the development of investment appraisal skills in key agencies, to strength the institutional framework for investment promotion as well as the identification of target markets, preparation of investment briefs and delivery of investment seminars, etc.
- A tracks record of developing an investment one- stop shop is a distinct advantage
- Having European Union Fund procurement procedure experience
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Solid IT skills
