GIZ International Services is currently preparing for an EU - funded project: Make it in The Gambia.
The overall objective of the project “Make it in The Gambia” is to contribute to socio-economic development and to nurture positive prospects for local populations and returning migrants in the Gambia.
Key expert 2 (m/f/d) will be responsible for the planning, coordination and quality assurance of the labor demand activities of the project, notably the support of MSMEs and youth associations to increase employment, will consult with the partners at national and local level and participate in donor coordination, will further assist the programme manager in monitoring and evaluation as well as communication.
Qualifications and Skills
University degree (master or equivalent) in economics, social science, political science, engineering, international development or similar qualification.
General professional experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in the area of private sector development.
Specific professional experience
At least 3 years of professional experience in the area of employment promotion, entrepreneurship and business development;
Significant experience in the area of development cooperation;
Experiences in Africa are an advantage;
Significant experience in the area of monitoring and evaluation;
Experience in the area of renewable energies is an advantage;
Experience in the area of communication is an advantage;
- Very good knowledge of GIZ and EU procedures will be an asset.
Banjul will be the operational base for the technical assistance. A sub-office might be established in the Upper River Region. Experts will be required to travel across the country as and if the need arises.
The intended start date is 1st September 2018 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 36 months from this date.
