Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Learning and Development Associate for its Operations, Finance and Compliance Division (OFC) within the Global Health Supply Chain Office (GHSCO), located in Arlington, VA. The Learning and Development (L&D) Associate provides logistical support to the L&D team within the Operations Finance, and Compliance Division of the Global Health and Supply Chain Office (GHSCO), while learning and broadening best practices in training program needs identification, design, delivery, and management, and also supports new business development efforts as needed. Responsibilities include:
  • Co-develop course schedule for each training semester based on GHSCO training needs. Liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) to schedule trainings and prepare facilitators
  • Responsible for L&D instructor-led training logistics, including but not limited to using the learning management system, creating calendar invitations, managing training calendar, ensuring room setup, preparing training materials, tracking attendance, and creating and sending course evaluations
  • Identify and assist in the development of learning and development content, including: in-class training content, electronic content for Degreed and/or SharePoint, webinars, group/divisional retreats, templates, forms, and manuals and ensure their compliance with standard policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with supporting teams as needed, including InDepth, AV, Production, Operations and Communications
  • Support management of L&D monitoring and evaluation system in collaboration with colleagues, develop reports, and conducts analysis to identify in-class and online trends
  • Liaise with SMEs to facilitate effective usage of the training toolkit
  • Support development and implementation of new employee orientation activities, as needed
  • Support the design and development of retreat agendas, with support and guidance from manager or director, and co-leads retreats
  • Support the collection of training feedback, and co-leads relevant focus or survey groups
  • Proactively support the seamless delivery of events, training courses, and meetings by anticipating, troubleshooting and proposing solutions for technology, logistics, and/or communications issues
  • Serve as point of contact for training delivery issues, questions or updates to curriculum, and support to facilitators
  • Co-create L&D communications materials and strategies, such as L&D newsletters and announcements, targeted outreach to stakeholders, and printed communication materials
  • Expand knowledge in instructional design and training delivery through on-the-job training, reviewing internal resources, and attending external learning opportunities where appropriate
  • Undertake increasingly complex assignments to support all areas of the global training program including needs assessments, design, delivery, and evaluation
  • Develop a solid understanding of Chemonics’ and GHSCO’s core business practices and organizational learning needs
  • Undertake billable assignments on projects or special initiatives as appropriate and with support of a manager or director
  • Participate in increasingly challenging new business roles and support Chemonics new business activities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative and/or technically relevant work experience, with ability to handle routine tasks and operational issues
  • Demonstrated interest in adult learning and training program management
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work assignments
  • Sensitivity to deadlines and ability to pay attention to details in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and spreadsheets with database, and experience with webinar and video editing applications preferred
  • Willingness to work overseas for up to 4 to 8 weeks per year and to consider long-term overseas assignments; experience living or working in developing countries preferred.
