About you
Do you have a strong background in legal editing? Are you looking for a new challenge? Then, the Solomon Islands is the right place for you. Work with the Legislative Drafting Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers to ensure users can access Solomon Islands primary and subsidiary legislation.

About the role
The Legal Editor and Project Manager will deliver phase one of the Solomon Islands Legal Information Access Project, so as to improve the accessibility of Solomon Islands laws. The role will work closely with the Legislative Drafting Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

About the program
Cardno has been engaged to provide a facility management team to manage the Solomon Islands Resource Facility operations to ensure effective service delivery, including:
  • Human resources and recruitment management;
  • Provision of operational and logistic support to Australian Government’s deployees and technical advisers working in various Solomon Islands’ Government Ministries and agencies including in the law and justice, and governance sectors;
  • Management of residential accommodation, maintenance services and security;
  • Maintaining of a management information system for adviser management; and
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the Facility and adviser performance and outcomes.
The Facility is a critical source of operational support to DFAT, Programs and Technical Advisers (TA) as they attempt to navigate a shifting operating context, consolidate previous achievements while also prioritising new ways of working to ensure Australia’s assistance better achieves service delivery impact.

SIJP is supported by SIRF and the successful candidate will be recruited through SIRF.

Remuneration
This position will be remunerated in line with the Australian Government’s Adviser Remuneration Framework (http://dfat.gov.au/about-us/publications/Documents/adviser-remuneration-framework-2016.pdf) and will fall within Discipline Group C, Job Levels 2. (Monthly Fee AUD8,026 up to 10,032 plus a mobility allowance and reimbursement of housing up to a set limit). The level at which the Adviser is engaged will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience.
