Project Overview & Background
The Feed the Future Asia Innovative Farmers Activity (AIFA) implemented by Winrock International (WI) contributes to the objectives of the U.S. Government’s Feed the Future initiative towards eliminating hunger. AIFA, in collaboration with Kasetsart University of Thailand, is supporting the identification of viable innovative technologies and approaches for smallholder farmers and encouraging them to adopt and scale-up innovations for improved incomes and livelihoods. The project has targeted 100 innovations to benefit 100,000 smallholder farmers across 10 countries in South and South East Asian countries. AIFA’s main office is in Bangkok, Thailand and has offices in Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Nepal.
AIFA seeks to sustain USAID’s investment in technology to continue sourcing, validating, and marketing innovations in frontier markets. As part of this effort, AIFA is exploring options for the creation of a sustainable organization to continue these efforts.
