Overview

The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Associate will help implement IBTCI’s strategic marketing and communication plans. The MarCom Associate will possess expertise in digital communications, visual communications, graphic design, content development, and writing and editing. The Associate will provide oversight of our communications efforts related to design, tone, quality control, and organizational positioning. The Associate will monitor and maintain IBTCI’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and Web site, and continually create and update print and other marketing materials. As needed, the Associate also will support Business Development efforts.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation of IBTCI’s marketing and communication strategy.
  • Work with leadership and team members to create marketing materials.
  • Design, format, and layout proposals and related materials (print and online) to enhance readability and engage the reader.
  • Ensure a creative yet consistent look and feel that adheres to, and supports, the IBTCI brand.
  • Implement the IBTCI’s digital communications strategy, focusing on social media management and Web site.
  • Manage IBTCI’s positioning across all social media channels.
  • Publish content to, and update key pages on, IBTCI’s Web site, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Provide graphic design support for internal and external communications and proposals.
  • Advise staff on implementing IBTCI’s brand through imagery, logo use, and formatting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fluent in emerging platforms and innovative methods of storytelling and engagement, including but not limited to social media.
  • Excellent writing, editing, research, and organizational skills.
  • Full proficiency in MS Office suite including Word and PowerPoint.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience working with social media management software.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional work experience.
  • Full proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and other tools for Web and graphic design.
  • Experience in writing for media and Internet.
  • Experience with online content management software.
  • Experience with graphic design.
  • Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to function as part of a team effort.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, international development, business, or related field.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
