Job Description

Devex is an online community for the international development, global health, and humanitarian aid sector. More than 300,000 aid workers use to find projects, news, and jobs in the international development sector.

Devex requires a freelance marketing copywriter who can conceptualize and write copy for email, online advertising and print/brochure pieces. These marketing pieces will be targeted to individuals and organizations around the world. The copywriter must have the ability to create compelling headlines, smart, concise body copy, and clear instructional copy. He/she must be comfortable working with senior management and partnering with marketing managers, designers, and the website team to ensure the art direction and implementation supports the concept. Creativity as well as analytical thinking with regard to information architecture (IA) and user experience is a must.

Qualifications:

The most important qualification is a proved history of writing effective marketing copy. Strong writing skills, minimum 2 years professional copywriting experience (writing and ad samples required), excellent attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time are all important. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Political Science and knowledge of international affairs and global development is preferred. Ad agency experience is a plus.
