The Market Development Facility (MDF) is an Australian Government-funded initiative that utilises a market systems development approach to connect with private and public sectors players with the ability and leverage to trigger lasting systemic change and create broad-based, sustainable pro-poor growth. MDF can be scaled-up to support further market development activities in country and in additional countries as needed.


MDF is a multi-country facility, currently operating in five countries: Fiji, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Each country has its own country team on the ground, with a Core Leadership Team headed up by the Chief Executive Officer providing strategic, technical and managerial oversight across all MDF partner countries.

Role:
MDF requires the services of a Consultant/Consulting Firm to work closely with its Partners (Port Denarau Marina and Vuda Marina) and assist the industry by conducting an economic impact analysis of Fiji’s yachting industry and local marinas.

* Identify and quantify the direct and indirect economic impacts of the yachting tourism in Fiji;
* Map the major yachting routes in Fiji and local economic impact in the key areas visited;
* Development of a yachting tourism multiplier for Fiji;
* Provide a SWOT analysis for yachting tourism in Fiji; and
* Identify a set of prioritised recommendations to support the growth of yachting tourism in the country.
* At the end of the assignment the consultant(s)/firm will be expected to present the key findings and recommendations of the report at a national stakeholder workshop.

* Experience in conducting yachting, information and finance-based assessments.
* Working experience in Pacific Island economies.
* Good project management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, including the ability to produce concise, readable and analytical report.
