Job Description

Fintrac, a leading US-based agriculture consulting firm with long-term programs in Africa, Asia and Central America, is currently recruiting for the following positions for a five-year agriculture program in Bogota, Colombia.

Senior Subawards Specialist – The Senior Subawards Specialist will help support the grant and sub-award aspects of the activity and report to the Senior Contracts/Grants Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in finance, grants, and contracts for US Government-funded projects.
  • University degree in Project Management, Administration, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of US Government regulations (FAR, AIDAR) for awarding resources and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to remote locations.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

HR Specialist – The HR Specialist will administer and support human resources policies, programs, and initiatives including employee records management, benefits administration, employee relations, labor law compliance, and recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated human resources experience. (US government or other development agency experience preferred.)
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organized and able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of project staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

IT Specialist – The IT Specialist will be responsible for network support for the program office, or multiple offices in remote locations, and providing day-to-day IT related services for staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in network management and desktop support, preferably on a US government-funded project.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related discipline.
  • Familiar with firewall products, such as CISCO, SonicWall, etc.
  • Very good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and PhotoShop.
  • Understanding of IT best practices and principles needed to solve computer and software problems. Ability to explain complex IT topics to all employee levels.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to remote locations.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Senior Accountant – The Senior Accountant will manage the accounting functions of this activity, ensure compliance with Fintrac, donor, and project accounting policies and procedures, prepare the project’s payroll, and supervise the project’s accounting staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of accounting experience, preferably on a US government-funded project. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Post-graduate or Master’s Degree in accounting or related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
  • Willing to travel to remote locations.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Accountant – The Accountant will support project office accounting activities in compliance with Fintrac, donor, and project policies and procedures, including reviewing all activity expenditures, invoices, and sub-awardee vouchers, assisting with accounts payable and payroll functions, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping for all transactions, and processing employee expense reports in a timely manner. S/he will report to the Senior Accountant.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably on a US government-funded project.
  • University Degree in accounting or related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
  • Willing to travel to remote locations.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Accounts Assistant – The Accounts Assistant will assist in the financial and accounting functions of this activity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of accounting and administrative experience, preferably on a US government-funded project.
  • University Degree or Certificate in accounting or related discipline.
  • Very good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Administrative Specialist – The Administrative Specialist will provide support in project office administrative and accounting and finance functions, including reviewing staff expense reports for compliance with donor and project policies and procedures, maintaining program files as required, by scanning, collating, and filing documents, managing petty cash transactions, timely submission of timesheets, project equipment inventories, project procurement requests, travel and meeting schedules for program staff and providing other administrative and accounting services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of finance/admin experience, preferably on a US government-funded project.
  • University Degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting software preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Procurement Specialist – The Procurement Specialist will ensure that all procurement activities are coordinated in a timely and logical manner, including purchasing of agricultural equipment, seeds, fertilizer, and other inputs, as well as office furniture, office supplies, and office and IT equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in, and knowledge of, procurement and logistics, preferably on a US government-funded project.
  • University Degree in agronomy (preferable) or related discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.
