Come join our dynamic team as our New Business Lead at the Civil Society & Education (CSE) Group at Winrock International, a recognized leader in U.S. and international development, providing solutions to some of the world’s most complex social, agricultural and environmental challenges. Join a multi-disciplinary team accounting for about 30 percent of Winrock’s annual programming in a highly visible position. You will be part of a core team managing new business activities and strategy with significant responsibility and reporting directly to the group Managing Director.
The CSE Group has a growing portfolio of over 20 projects focusing on human rights, child labor, counter-trafficking in persons, education, and livelihoods with a strong emphasis on gender equity, social inclusion and economic empowerment. We have established strong partnerships with USAID, USDOL, USDOS and USDA, but are also focused on growing work with DIFD, SDA and a core of private sector companies, as well as foundations.
In this role, you will facilitate innovative designs ranging from increasing educational access in Bangladesh or West Africa, getting at the root causes of child labor in agriculture supply chains, supporting partnerships and private sector engagement on three continents, as well as expanding donor diversification for a fast-growing counter-trafficking portfolio.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and capable individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proven track record of successful pursuit of new clients and in proposal development resulting in program funding and expansion, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of headquarters and field office staff to design successful projects and foster donor relationships. This person must be able to actively engage with the private sector and non-traditional donors, and will require some overseas travel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education: BS required in fields related to international development, including international relations, education, children/youth development, political science, women’s studies, human rights, or international law preferred
Languages: Fluency in English required; fluency in at least one additional language strongly desired.
- Nine to 11 years of international development/non-profit business development experience required, with experience in Africa and/or Asia preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to and experience with relevant technical issues and program areas is essential
- Extensive experience in leading successful business development efforts with diverse donors, including USG (USAID, DoL, MCC, etc.), private sector, foundations, and other independent donors
- Experience managing new business pipeline tracking, forecasting, and market analysis
- Hands-on experience in successful development of proposals/applications to US Government and other bilateral/multilateral agencies
- Knowledge of development programming as well as the application of best practices and program quality standards required
