Job Summary
This is a multi-faceted role which requires the person to coordinate with key stakeholders across countries to ensure robust planning practices are followed and that procurement teams are appropriately planning for supplier readiness and capacity to meet requirements. This role is also responsible for developing item level data to leverage historical demand to forecast needs and improve supplier readiness. In addition to planning, logistics planning and order tracking are key responsibilities of this role. It’ expected that this person will develop the initial process which will likely be manual, and develop the strategy for improved order visibility and logistics management.

Major Responsibilities
* Develop procedures to ensure we have visibility into all grants and their associated demand and supply plans
* Collaborate with supply chain teams at all levels to improve planning execution, quality and on-going integration of demand and supply plans and procurement activities
* Track global orders from order to delivery and take action proactively to ensure flow of goods
* Identify systemic root causes with order delays and opportunities for continuous improvement
* Define long term strategy for optimal planning and logistics management and resource requirements including staffing, procedures and software
* Track payment status to ensure payment are made on time to suppliers
* Collaborate with Global Procurement team to escalate supplier performance issues, align on supply plans, and participate in key business review feedback
* Identify strategic grants that require greater support and/or focus and ensure plans are developed and monitored to ensure project success
* Manage global logistics providers to ensure performance meets expectations and costs are within budget

Key Working Relationships
Position Reports to: Senior Director Global Procurement
Position directly supervises: team structure to be developed as part of role

Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: Global Supply Chain teams, country programs, HQ departments
External: suppliers

Job Requirements:
* Experience in a global organization operating in complex environments; ideally has planning experience in grant-funded organizations
* Experience in developing structured planning and logistics methodology and leading cross-functional teams
* Expert knowledge of: supply chain management best practices, including demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning
* Effectively manages ambiguity
* Minimum 10 years of planning and logistics experience
* Experience switching from supplier managed freight to managing logistics providers directly
* Must have proven project management skills and experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, and a team building work style
* Requires a demonstrated record of initiative, problem solving, and change management
* C-Level presentation skills, negotiation and relationship skills
* Experience working directly with suppliers on supply planning and order management
* Bachelor’ degree or equivalent work experience required
* French language skills are desired

Working Environment:
Standard office work environment. Travel less than 15%
